Mrs. Burris and Mrs. Smith's fourth grade classes had their annual egg drop today. The students designed an egg protection device that was then put to the test. They were dropped off a ladder, if not broken they then went to the 50 foot drop from a fire truck ladder. All eggs survivng the 50 foot drop then moved on to an 80 foot drop from the fire truck ladder to become the champions. Six students in Mrs. Smith's class and 4 students from Mrs. Burris's class survived all 3 drops!
It was an "Egg-citing" day!
We are doing many fun activities as we count down to the last day of school using a Z-A countdown.
L day - Luau Party
M day - Music (we made maracas!)
N day - students got to choose a new name
O day - Orange day
Mrs. Burlingame’s Writing Class took advantage of the beautiful day yesterday and had class outside!
The kids enjoyed getting creative, talking, and the warm weather while doing their project booklet!

What an awesome experience!! Hendry Park Student Council members at the courthouse construction site. Each student signed the beam, got autographs from some pretty important people, lead the Pledge of Allegiance and signaled to the crane operater to "Go".
To start off spring both 4th grade classes constructed their own Peep Houses. They were able to use materials they were given to make their desired Peep Houses!

Thank you Trine Men's Basketball for helping us with our PEP March Madness Activity! This month's PEP activity focused on "being prepared." Grade level classrooms were in competition and each student could earn their "Team" points by showing up to school and being prepared by having their chromebook charged and ready for work! Our champion classroom winners are:
Mrs. Sholl (KDG), Mrs. Dawson (1st), Mrs. Baird (2nd), Mrs. Perschke (3rd), Mrs. Smith (4th), and even with overtime, Mrs. Burlingame and Mrs. Steffel class were winner's! Great job everyone! Be present. Be excited. Be positive.
Hendry Park Girls on the run, raised money to buy the team much needed supplies! Way to go girls!
On Thursday, March 23rd, the Hendry Park PTO hosted the Read-a-thon celebration! Overall, our school raised over $5,000. Weston Martin was the top fundraiser with $355 and Addison Hartman was the runner-up with $335 raised. Hunter Holiday was our top reader with 910 minutes read and his brother, Lane Hoilday, was in second place with 840 minutes read. Those top readers and fundraisers each were rewarded with getting to throw a pie at Miss Wilkinson and Ms. Sparks! The top five fundraisers for each class got to help duct tape Mrs. Brandt to the wall! Many students said that this was the best day ever! Finally, on Friday, March 24th, the top fundraising class for each grade-level celebrated with a cupcake party! Thank you to all staff, students, and families who participated! The Read-a-thon is the PTO’s biggest fundraiser each year and allows the Hendry Park students to participate in fun activities throughout the year. We are already excited for next year!
