In celebration of Constitution Week, the High School Media Center partnered with the Pokagon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to offer free pocket Constitutions to students and staff. A curated selection of books highlighting the American Revolution and our Nation’s founding documents is on display throughout the week and available for checkout in the media center.

Congratulations to Jordan Taylor on Becoming a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist!
Jordan Taylor has been named a semifinalist for the prestigious National Merit Scholarship, an honor awarded to less than 1% of high school seniors nationwide. This elite group represents the highest-scoring students in each state.
The nomination came as a surprise to Jordan. “I knew I had a chance, but I didn’t think it was a real one,” he shared humbly. He credits the English score to the strong focus in Mrs. Lantz’s class. At AHS, Jordan has been a part of Angola University and is on track to earn 60 college credits this year. Looking ahead, Jordan plans to attend the University of Notre Dame, where he hopes to pursue a career in fields that heavily involve mathematics—such as actuarial science, engineering, or business.
Beyond the classroom, Jordan is a committed member of the AHS soccer team. “Soccer is a huge priority for me,” he says.
Jordan’s advice to fellow students? “Keep grinding and challenge yourself—don’t take the easy classes!”
We wish Jordan the best of luck as he continues this exciting journey toward his future!
